Daisy Tralala Journey of a Submissive

It’s official. I am under consideration by Sir M. I’m off the market (so to speak). I’ve been given more restrictions. I am under scrutiny. I will be held to a higher standard and Sir M will expect improvement. My interactions with other Doms will be particularly restricted. And I am thrilled!

The “under consideration” period in the BDSM world is something like a trial period or an engagement. It could take any length of time and Sir M does not have a formal procedure in place. The desired outcome of being under consideration is that he will grant my petition to become his personal submissive. … Continue Reading

We’ve seen it before. Truth is, the one night stand joke never ceases to amuse us, so when we saw this on FailBlog, we just had to share:

When A Good Show Gets Real

June 19, 2010 Culture, Television No Comments

Showtime‘s revolutionary envelope-pushing brought you The L Word six years ago. Now, they’re back, but, as they say, this time it’s “for real.” That’s right, creatures, the L Word has gone the way of reality TV.

Introducing The Real L Word. Tomorrow, the nation will meet the cast of six successful, Los Angeles lesbians and come along as they live and love in the city where dreams are made and shattered. … Continue Reading

Slinging Balls for Science

Our fearless editrix finds herself this evening pacing about the Sex and the 405 newsroom (naked, of course) bemoaning the lack of white bread to be found in California. But fear not, for while the rest of the staff attempts to distract her with Star Wars porn, I am here to educate and entertain.

Introducing: A ball sack for your ball sack. A sling for your thing. A sock for your cock. A thong for your dong.

According to Scicurious at Neurotopia:

For many years now, scientists have been trying to come up with a reliable form of male contraceptive that…isn’t a condom. There’s a lot of burden on women when it comes to contraception (in terms of the pill, the ring, the patch, etc), and so for a while scientists have been looking for a way to give men more of an equal say. But hormones don’t appear to work very well.

So what did the scientists do? Polyester underpants. … Continue Reading

You Can Go To Jail for Adultery in New York

June 18, 2010 Crime, News No Comments

Help us! We’ve fallen into a Hawthorne novel and we can’t get out!

OK, not really. But get this — a New York woman recently arrested for lewd conduct after she was allegedly caught having sex in a park with her lover is facing an additional charge: adultery.

Suzanne Corona, 41, was busted getting down on a picnic table with Justin Amend, 29, last week, The New York Daily News reports. … Continue Reading

How Not To Break Up On Twitter

June 18, 2010 Culture No Comments

As social media becomes more prominent, more and more things are hitting the stream. Here’s yesterday’s spat that caused the flow of tech to come full stop — for two full minutes. We’d give you some background, but — like they say on Facebook — it’s complicated. Enjoy it for what it is, an ode to Brokeback Mountain in 140 characters or less.

An Eyeful of Vulva

June 17, 2010 Art, Culture 3 Comments

How many of us have heard (or, God forbid, uttered) the expression “it’s not the size of the boat, it’s the motion of the ocean”? The conversation about penis size never ceases skips a generation. Male genitals are out there, easy to gauge, and understand. But the female body is more mysterious. We can’t count the number of women we’ve encountered in our lives who have never really sat and explored their vulvae and vaginae.

Even if those of us who do, if we don’t have much experience exploring other female bodies, we can only assume they’re not all the same. There must be some differences — penises are not all the same, after all. … Continue Reading

Gender Differences in Kissing

June 17, 2010 News, Research No Comments

Kissing rocks, bottom line. Today, it’s largely considered a sign of affection and/or desire in about 90 percent of the world. We know this — and if we don’t know, we suspect. But just what makes a kiss excellent? … Continue Reading

Offer Your Significant Other To An Unruly Mob!

June 16, 2010 Culture, geek, web No Comments

And because we can’t seem to get enough abuse, here’s WiseMuv, a new site that — if it catches — is bound to make everyone just a little more bitter and annoyed than usual. Yay!

No, seriously, this is insane. But what do we know, some of you people love to go Facebook official and some couples even dig fighting in “public” (i.e., on Facebook walls), so maybe you’ll be into this. … Continue Reading

World Cup Delicious

It’s World Cup time and the web is clogged with all manner of information about the teams, the matches and the players. Awesome. Our editrix is a huge soccer fanatic, so we’ve suffered more games than we care to recount. In any event, just because we’re bitter doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy the spoils of the match.

So, all you lovers of men, here’s Italy’s Fabio Cannavaro. For all you lovers of women, scroll down for skin and World Cup WAGs. … Continue Reading

Gamers Won’t Be Seduced, Will Stare At Random Cleav Instead

That Steam allows the objectification and sexualization of female characters in a variety of its games but refuses to accept a game about actually engaging with women in a more interactive fashion is astonishingly backward.

FetLife Is Not Safe for Users

That the site doesn’t take measures to protect user content and has shown incompetence or negligence in regard to user privacy, all the while prohibiting victims from warning others about predatory behavior creates an environment where it is nearly impossible for members of the community to take care of themselves and one another. By enabling FetLife to continue espousing a code of silence, allowing the spinning self-created security issues as “attacks,” and not pointing out how disingenuous FetLife statements about safety are, we are allowing our community to become a breeding ground for exploitation.

Why You Should Vote No On Prop 35

Should people who benefit (parents, siblings, children, roommates!) from the earnings of “commercial sex acts” (any sexual conduct connected to the giving or receiving of something of value) be charged with human trafficking? Should someone who creates obscene material that is deemed “deviant” be charged as with human trafficking? Should someone who profits from obscene materials be charged with human trafficking? Should people transporting obscene materials be charged with human trafficking? Should a person who engages in sex with someone claiming to be above the age of consent or furnishing a fake ID to this effect be charged with human trafficking? What if I told you the sentences for that kind of conviction were eight, 14 or 20 years in prison, a fine not to exceed $500,000, and life as a registered sex offender?

Pretty and Calls Herself a Geek? Attention Whore!

If you are a woman, you might be given a chance to prove yourself in this community. Since there is no standard definition of what a “geek” is and it will vary from one judge to the next anyway, chances of failing are high (cake and grief counseling will be available after the conclusion of the test!). If you somehow manage to succeed, you’ll be tested again and again by anyone who encounters you until you manage to establish yourself like, say, Felicia Day. But even then, you’ll be questioned. As a woman, your whole existence within the geek community will be nothing but a series of tests — if you’re lucky. If you aren’t lucky, you’ll be harassed and threatened and those within the culture will tacitly agree that you deserve it.

Cuddle Chemical? Moral Molecule? Not So Fast

Zak’s original field, it turns out, is economics, a far cry from the hearts and teddy bears we imagine when we consider his nickname. But after performing experiments on generosity, Zak stumbled on the importance of trust in interactions, which led him, rather inevitably, to research about oxytocin. Oxytocin, you might remember, is a hormone that has been linked previously to bonding — between mothers and children primarily, but also between partners. What Zak has done is take the research a step further, arguing in his recent book, The Moral Molecule, that oxytocin plays a role in determining whether we are good or evil.

How to Avoid Pissing off a Stripper

Let’s talk about the strippers. Whether they like to be half-naked or not, whether they enjoy turning you on or not, there’s one thing they all have in common: they’re working. Whether you think that taking one’s clothes off for money is a great choice of career is really beside the point (is it a possibility for you to make $500 per hour at your job without a law degree? Just asking). These women are providing fantasy, yes, but that is their job. And as a patron of the establishment where they work, you need to treat them like you would anyone else who provides a service to you.
