Mike Verdugo is a police officer in Broward County, Florida — or was until the Hollywood, Florida Police Department fired him over a role he played in a porn flick.

Verdugo, who served on the force for 10 years, appeared in the reality television show Design Star and was recognized by a fan, who had seen the porn film and who quickly posted a clip on the web. … Continue Reading

Daisy Tralala Journey of a Submissive

Submitting to the will of another has taught me the bliss of surrender. The ecstasy I experience in serving an elite but demanding Dom cannot be reached in any other way.

But as I go deeper in surrender, I’ve taken some missteps in my journey that have led to misery and threatened my service to Sir M. … Continue Reading

Happy Belated National Underwear Day

Happy underwear day!

It appears that Wednesday was National Underwear Day, as decreed by the underwear company Freshpair.

“Underwear should no longer be merely the first thing you put on and the last thing you take off, but the most important thing you wear all day.” says Freshpair president Michael Kleinmann. That’s what the holiday is all about. … Continue Reading

Summer Turn-Offs Survey

HerWay Survey

The makers of HerWay don’t like doing things the way everyone else does. The Los Angeles-based HerWay is, after all, a dating site that hands women complete control by denying men the ability to so much as search for profiles.

So it’s not surprising that when they surveyed their users they didn’t ask what people are into, but what turns them off the most. Results from the summer HerWay survey of singles’ turn-offs. Ready for the survey results? … Continue Reading

The Savage Girls

Devon Savage isn’t just in porn, he also enjoys being on the other side of the camera lens. He’s been in the business for six years, and now runs several of his own sites with his partner Ariella, herself an adult star. We asked him to give us some background and share some eye candy with us.

Savage Girls

“I was just kinda a hack at it, never thinking it would one day lead to running three websites and doing it for a living,” Savage told us laughing when we asked about how he got started. “I got into the porn business as talent and one thing led to another.” … Continue Reading

My Extreme Fuck Up

Daisy Tralala Journey of a Submissive

I walk on the wild side. I gravitate toward the extreme –- whether it is sex, hot and intensely seasoned foods, partying like a rock star or rough travel to exotic locations.

I’m in service to a Dom who is an edge player –- meaning he likes the more dangerous BDSM activities. He loves to scratch a deadly sharp blade across my body that could slice me open with one false move. He chokes me and alters my breathing. Sometimes he sets me aflame. In other words: he likes extremes. … Continue Reading

Sex, Bawls and Video Games

Desire demon on Dragon Age.

Whoever said gamers don’t get any action is obviously jealous. Gamers have been getting more consistent action than most other demographics for years now — so what if it’s not analog?

Inspired by a recent article on the weekly BrandX about sex in video games, we hit up Crix Lee, the editor-in-chief of GirlGamer.com, a social network for women based out of Los Angeles.

“I can’t really pinpoint one game in particular,” Lee told us when we asked her to name the most sexually-charged game she’d played recently. “Like everybody else, I was out to get my characters in Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 laid.” … Continue Reading

Bondage Blaze: the Media’s Mishandling of the Passive Arts Arson Incident

On Tuesday, July 27, at approximately 11:30 AM, a fire broke out at Passive Arts Studios, a club in Lennox near LAX. The fire, labeled as suspicious, was put out by firefighters some 25 minutes later. They found the bodies of a man and a dog in the office area, where the fire appeared to have originated, but could not determine the cause of death at the time. Reports suggested the victim was the owner of the club. … Continue Reading

The Cause Gets Heated

July 30, 2010 Interview 2 Comments

Melissa Jun Rowley is a writer and cause activist living in Los Angeles. She writes for Mashable and WhatGives!?, a blog from Cause Media Group, which focuses on cause marketing for brands and celebrities. But this girl is no goody-goody two shoes. We sat down and interviewed her today about the irreverent approach she takes to social media. … Continue Reading

Daisy Tralala Journey of a Submissive

I’ve been Sir M’s only trainee for nearly the first six months. He’s rejected many training requests from other submissives — often because he doesn’t think they’re serious, or they are looking for a boyfriend Dom.

“I choose my trainees, they don’t choose me!” … Continue Reading

Gamers Won’t Be Seduced, Will Stare At Random Cleav Instead

That Steam allows the objectification and sexualization of female characters in a variety of its games but refuses to accept a game about actually engaging with women in a more interactive fashion is astonishingly backward.

FetLife Is Not Safe for Users

That the site doesn’t take measures to protect user content and has shown incompetence or negligence in regard to user privacy, all the while prohibiting victims from warning others about predatory behavior creates an environment where it is nearly impossible for members of the community to take care of themselves and one another. By enabling FetLife to continue espousing a code of silence, allowing the spinning self-created security issues as “attacks,” and not pointing out how disingenuous FetLife statements about safety are, we are allowing our community to become a breeding ground for exploitation.

Why You Should Vote No On Prop 35

Should people who benefit (parents, siblings, children, roommates!) from the earnings of “commercial sex acts” (any sexual conduct connected to the giving or receiving of something of value) be charged with human trafficking? Should someone who creates obscene material that is deemed “deviant” be charged as with human trafficking? Should someone who profits from obscene materials be charged with human trafficking? Should people transporting obscene materials be charged with human trafficking? Should a person who engages in sex with someone claiming to be above the age of consent or furnishing a fake ID to this effect be charged with human trafficking? What if I told you the sentences for that kind of conviction were eight, 14 or 20 years in prison, a fine not to exceed $500,000, and life as a registered sex offender?

Pretty and Calls Herself a Geek? Attention Whore!

If you are a woman, you might be given a chance to prove yourself in this community. Since there is no standard definition of what a “geek” is and it will vary from one judge to the next anyway, chances of failing are high (cake and grief counseling will be available after the conclusion of the test!). If you somehow manage to succeed, you’ll be tested again and again by anyone who encounters you until you manage to establish yourself like, say, Felicia Day. But even then, you’ll be questioned. As a woman, your whole existence within the geek community will be nothing but a series of tests — if you’re lucky. If you aren’t lucky, you’ll be harassed and threatened and those within the culture will tacitly agree that you deserve it.

Cuddle Chemical? Moral Molecule? Not So Fast

Zak’s original field, it turns out, is economics, a far cry from the hearts and teddy bears we imagine when we consider his nickname. But after performing experiments on generosity, Zak stumbled on the importance of trust in interactions, which led him, rather inevitably, to research about oxytocin. Oxytocin, you might remember, is a hormone that has been linked previously to bonding — between mothers and children primarily, but also between partners. What Zak has done is take the research a step further, arguing in his recent book, The Moral Molecule, that oxytocin plays a role in determining whether we are good or evil.

How to Avoid Pissing off a Stripper

Let’s talk about the strippers. Whether they like to be half-naked or not, whether they enjoy turning you on or not, there’s one thing they all have in common: they’re working. Whether you think that taking one’s clothes off for money is a great choice of career is really beside the point (is it a possibility for you to make $500 per hour at your job without a law degree? Just asking). These women are providing fantasy, yes, but that is their job. And as a patron of the establishment where they work, you need to treat them like you would anyone else who provides a service to you.
