No one is immune to sex tapes! Not rockstars, actors, heiresses, politicians or spiritual leaders! Swami Nithyananda falls into the last category. According to his ashram, he’s “attending the Kumbh Mela” right now, which we’re pretty sure is the Indian version of skipping town. Why? Earlier this week a tape was released by the media featuring him and an Indian actress.

The tape has caused enormous controversy and OneIndia is reporting that followers are now attacking his ashrams in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and that the local government is investigating the matter.

“Two cases of cheating has been filed against the Swamiji for hurting people’s religious sentiments,” OneIndia reported today. “The Chennai police are still searching for him.”

They’re also reporting that Ranjitha, the actress featured in the sex tape, has attempted suicide. The report mentions she was married but is now divorced and that there are rumors that the actress herself created the tape to blackmail the spiritual leader, but nothing has been confirmed.

In the U.S., a sex tape is a cheap publicity stunt and call for attention. In other places — they’ll burn your effigies in the streets, vandalize your property and send the police after you. Serious business.

Judge Abraham Penn Jones ordered Andrew Young, the ex-aide of former Senator John Edwards, to turn over the sex tape on Friday. Young and his wife, Cheri, were at the Pittsboro, North Carolina court to contest a temporary restraining order forbidding them from disseminating the videotape.

The judge found the Youngs in civil contempt of court and ordered them to give the court the tape and other materials they may have by 2:00PM this coming Wednesday. If they fail to comply, the couple could be jailed.

According to court documents, the couple has said they possess “a video recording showing Senator Edwards engaged in sexual activities with a woman who, from all indications, is not his wife and who the Youngs believe to be Ms. Hunter, based upon her appearance.”

And the woman on the tape is visibly pregnant, which means the video might not be the one specified in the restraining order, because Rielle Hunter, Edwards’ former mistress, said that tape was created in September 2006. Which means, essentially, they don’t have to pay mind to the restraining order.

According to the couple, Hunter “abandoned the videotape in the trash at their home and made no effort to recover it until almost two years after she had left their home.”

No luck for the Youngs, no sex tape for us.

Calm down, there is no tape to be shared yet (I know, this blog is turning into a catalog of all the sex tapes that don’t exist, including my own. Sigh).

But bear with me because this one is juicy. So as you know former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards had an affair with Rielle Hunter, a woman his team hired to videotape the candidate during his campaigning. Well, get this: his former aide Andrew Young says the ex-senator and his former mistress made a sex tape.

Young spelled this out in the proposal for his book The Politician.

This doesn’t sit well with the Edwards, obviously, but then things have been tempestuous between the two camps for a while.

According to an old piece on the New York Daily News gives us the juicy gossip on Young’s feud with the Edwards:

Young says that his belief in Edwards ran so deep that he agreed to take the fall for the candidate, inviting the pregnant Hunter to live with him, his wife, Cheri, and their three children. Later, after Hunter delivered the baby, Young and his family moved to a different home in California.

While he was unpacking, Young discovered a videocassette, according to the book pitch. Hunter had been hired by the Edwards campaign to videotape the candidate’s movements, but this one is said to have shown him taking positions that weren’t on his official platform.

The purported sex tape confirmed to Hunter that Edwards was even more reckless than he thought.

Elizabeth Edwards is said to hold Young partly to blame for her husband’s affair, since Young knew it was going on and sometimes used his cell phone to conference the senator and his girlfriend. Young has told friends that, in revenge, Elizabeth arranged for the media to learn about a youthful misdeameanor in which Young was arrested for stealing a sign from a biker bar.

Elizabeth also suspects Young stole the baseball card collection of her late son, Wade, according to a source who says that she told Young in an e-mail that other former staff members “have passed lie detector tests.”

Whoa, can you say drama? So, of course, now that Young’s book is thisclose to coming out, he’s bringing the deets on the tape out to stir up the jaded masses. But it gets better. John Edwards has told the National Enquirer that the story that Young found the tape is a total lie and that if there is a tape, then Young is the one who recorded it. The plot thickens! Dun dun dun!

So what’s in this tape that may or may not exist? Sources tell Gawker, the media gossip blog, that: “The tape… is explicit and reveals that Edwards ‘is physically very striking, in a certain area. Everyone who sees it says “whoa”. She’s behind the camera at first.’”

Oh, my! Well, now we definitely want to see it. Not that we didn’t before — but then, you know our editor here is kind of a sex tape aficionado.

It’s been five days and we have still heard nothing on that story of a supposed Lindsay Lohan sex tape. Needless to say, we’re crushed. As some of you may know, our editor here at Sex and the 405 has a huge thing for redheads, and even though LiLo’s blonde at the moment, after her shoot for Muse mag, we were left quite desperate for this alleged 47-second sex tape which the starlet supposedly made with a money-grubbing waiter looking to score a quick $200,000.

London’s Daily Mirror reports Lohan enjoyed a brief affair with the waiter last year and cites a spy who says the vid is dynamite: “It’s pretty seedy and shows Lindsay engaging in a particular sex act which, obviously should remain behind closed doors.”

I get short and sweet, but 47 seconds? That’s a quickie record.

According to Fleshbot, the footage was offered to Hustler, but they declined.

The 23-year-old Lohan is allegedly “devastated,” though I honestly don’t see how 47 seconds is any more “damaging” to her reputation than the yummy video she shot for Muse.

It’s official: everyone has a sex tape except for me.

Eighty-six-year-old Narain Dutt Tiwari was the proud governor of the Andhra Pradesh in India until last week when a television station aired a tape of him getting down with not one, but three young women.

Tiwari denounced the tape on Friday, saying it is a fake, but he resigned later that day citing “health reasons.”

According to the channel that exposed the video, ABN Andhra Jyoti, the foursome came about after Tiwari promised a woman a mining lease in exchange for serious playtime. The woman brought the three women in the video to him and exposed the governor after he failed to keep up his end of the bargain.

The channel was barred by the courts from re-broadcasting the sex tape on Friday when the office of the governor filed a petition arguing that the video was “likely to demean and denigrate his office.”

False alarm. Rumors that her flash-in-the-pan ex-hubby Ojani Noa is shopping a sex tape around are false.

“They think I have a sex tape with her and that I’m trying to sell it,” Noa told E! News in an exclusive interview. “My tape is from our honeymoon, the wedding, us hanging out. There’s no nudity—maybe one spanking. There’s moments of her fighting with her mom…couples having fun and kissing. If someone has a sex tape, it’s not me.”

Whatever it is, J.Lo. is fighting him at every turn. She won an injunction to stop him from selling a tell-all about their relationship (rife with allegations that she was sleeping around on him!) and a temporary court order to shut down its development.

“I’m not going to harm anybody,” Noa, 35, says. “I’m a great guy. If I was going to hurt anybody I have had many, many chances to do it. I always wish her the best.”

His newest thing is a mockumentary loosely based on how he escaped Cuba, got a job at a restaurant and seduced the star into a 10-month marriage.

Yeah, you’re right, you’re not hurting anyone, dude. You’re just annoying as hell, like a rash that won’t go away.

Oh, yum, yum. Another sex tape has leaked and this one features the delectable and coordinated Carmen Electra–with a woman!

We don’t know when the tape was filmed or how it got out and Perez Hilton is speculating that Electra’s camp released it themselves. I have no idea, nor do I care. This has to be one of the best-performed sex tapes I have ever seen.

And I am quite the avid watcher.

Imagine your in-laws getting a sex tape you made with the Playboy model you were banging before you met their daughter. All shades of mortifying, right?

That’s what OK! Magazine is saying happened to Colin Farrell.

A few years ago, Farrell won a court injunction against the sale, distribution and display of the sex tape, which he made in 2005 Playboy model Nicole Narain, but the past always has a way of catching up with us no matter how good our legal clean-up.

A messy situation for Farrell, who recently had a baby with his new girlfriend Alicja Bachleda, the daughter of very devout Catholics.

“It seemed like a good idea at the time, two adults having fun, ‘Ohh a video camera’, you know how it goes,” Farrell says about the video. “But at the end of the deposition–because it was all very officious in that law office in Los Angeles, the man in charge said, ‘You’ve learned your lesson now I hope, Mr. Farrell,’ and I said, ‘Absolutely–next time I take the tape with me.’”

Sex tape alert! Former Miss California, Carrie Prejean, settled her lawsuit with the beauty pageant after watching 15 seconds of a previously unreleased sex tape the pageant obtained from TMZ.

If you guys remember, Prejean is the girl who sparked nationwide controversy when she told 2009 Miss USA pageant judge Perez Hilton that marriage should be between a man and a woman, then almost lost the crown after semi-nude photos surfaced of her (in breach of the Miss California pageant rules), then did lose the crown allegedly for refusing to pose for Playboy.

Bumblef*ck, right? Anyway, she sued the pageant for libel, religious discrimination and the release of her medical records (AKA, her boob job, which the pageant paid for), but recently settled after pageant attorneys showed her a little gem of a tape that TMZ had obtained but kept under wraps “because it was so racy.”

Oh, man, do we want our hands on that one.

The deposed beauty queen was scheduled to appear on Today next week to push her new book, but now producers are all over TMZ for deets about her debut as an amateur solo porn star. It’s not quite the same, but that interview should be titillating to watch for us shameless members of the vulture culture just the same.

The National Enquirer is reporting (you still don’t understand, do you? In Los Angeles, The National Enquirer has as much–if not more–weight than the Los Angeles Times) that there is a David Letterman sex tape.

Yup, the guy didn’t know where the cameras were in his own studio. Rookie move, d00d. Now there’s a tape floating about of his indiscretions with a much younger staffer. Not sure whether Vivid will take interest in this one, but it is sure to play a role in the case against his blackmailer in some form or another.

“If the tape makes its way into the criminal case, it’ll explode his marriage to smithereens,” a close source told the Enquirer. And it could be the last straw with CBS executives to boot.
